An Early Season Update from the Field
It has been an interesting start to the season.
Early on, heavier than expected rains tested the fields and our planning. At the same time, we have had to contend with monkeys, which is a reality of farming here and something we are actively managing day by day. These are the kinds of challenges you do not always see from the outside, but they are part of building a resilient farm.
The good news is that the farm is healthy.
Despite the early pressure, plant growth has been strong across the beds. Vines are spreading well, foliage is vibrant, and the soil is holding up nicely after the rains. Bora beans are now being harvested consistently, and the quality has been solid. Our first cucumber pick is coming next week, and the crop is looking promising.
This stage of the season is about momentum. Monitoring, adjusting, and staying close to the land. We are encouraged by what we are seeing and confident in what is coming out of the ground.
